"One year ago, Olya photographed our wedding in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. I was drawn to her cinematic style and the feeling I had from seeing her photography. Prior to the event, she spoke to us to understand the pictures that we hoped to capture for the day, and she more than delivered. On our wedding day, she shot with both digital and black and white film photography. There is a certain magic to her photography, and it romanticizes the moment. It transports you to the time and place, and truly makes time stand still. Her film photography had a beautiful, darker aesthetic, and since there were fewer pictures taken by film, it makes them stand out as special moments. There’s a picture of us walking towards the stream, and we are bright in the middle of the picture with the rest of the background blending out around us. It is more of a feeling than a crisp picture, which is what makes this picture so special to us.
Olya had a quick turnaround time for the photographs, and they were magnificent. I get so many compliments on one photo of a kiss we shared at the end of the night, with our guests waving sparklers.
Olya is both an incredible photographer and one of the kindest people. I really enjoyed working with her and felt that we gained a friend from the session, in addition to having the photos we dreamed of.
